| Welcome to AGRONOMY NOTES - An information resource prepared by Dr. Jim Bauder, former Extension Soil and Water Quality Specialist in the Department of Land Resources and Environmental Sciences at Montana State University. The Agronomy Notes originated from a weekly news release and fact sheet series, initiated in 1995. The news release and resultant fact sheets accessible from this web page attempt to address topics of interest to crop and livestock producers, natural resource managers, and other interested individuals. Although the focus is primarily on irrigated and dryland cereal and forage crop production in the northern Great Plains, and although some of the notes were written a decade or more ago, the series offers information in fact sheet format which is useful to a wide readership, even today. Although some of the Ag Notes focused on topics of immediate relevance at the time of writing, the concepts and principles put forth in most of the Ag Notes still apply today.
